BI Specialist – Hollard

an exciting new opportunity has just become available in our Risk and Underwriting area. We are looking to recruit a BI Specialist Role Objectives Responsible for to bridging the gap between Insure Business, Pricing, Underwriting, Reinsurance, Risk Management and Data Management in the Risk & Underwriting function. As a key user of data within Hollard Insure, the Risk & Underwriting function is looking for the individual to lead and drive processes related to the acquisition, transformation and reporting of data from both internal and external systems in the Hollard Insure eco-system Support the pricing team to deliver actuarial pricing capability for on and off-platform data. Lead the process in gathering relevant pricing data, analysis of the data for completeness and accuracy as well as the preparation of data in a format that allows the performance of pricing exercises Driving ad-hoc analyses to identify underperforming areas of the business Leading data acquisition and maintenance of data sets for use by the Risk & Underwriting Function and for reporting by different Lines of Business. This includes data captured on external systems Automate monthly and quarterly reporting requirements of the Risk & Underwriting function to aid portfolio monitoring and segmentation exercises Leading discussions on the integrity of off-platform data used for processes in the Risk & Underwriting function Driving change with business units to identify system and/or pricing data capture shortcomings of both internal and external systems and make practical recommendations for system enhancements and increased data capture Ensure delivery of change requests concerning data capture and integrity prioritized for delivery on underwriting platforms Represent the Pricing and Underwriting teams in Data Management forums, planning sessions and when required as a data expert in related queries Analyse Hollard Insure’s data infrastructure to understand what data can be extracted and how it can be done in an efficient manner for data consumed by the Risk & Underwriting function Develop and maintain a pricing data warehouse environment
Required Knowledge and Experience:
At least 6-10 years’ working experience in data management and/or underwriting within the financial services industry.
At least 5 years’ experience in Data Management or Software Programming Microsoft SQL Integration Services, MS SQL Analysis Services, MS SQL Reporting Services Microsoft SQL Master Data Services Excellent written and verbal communication skills Team player & Service focused delivery
Matric Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or relevant Information Systems course Data management Certificate or equivalent
